Biography

Alan C. Helmkamp is a graduate of Livonia Stevenson High School (with High Honors, 1970), University of Michigan (Magna Cum Laude, 1974) and Wayne State University Law School (Cum Laude, 1977).

Admitted to the State Bar of Michigan on October 12,1977 Alan has extensive experience as a litigator in both civil and criminal law. His personal injury specialty is motor vehicle negligence including highway liability and social security disability. He has successfully achieved  multiple million-dollar-plus case results for clients in his 43-year career.

Alan also has extensive litigation experience handling probate and real estate matters.

Alan is a past president of the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association (now Michigan Association for Justice), representing the plaintiffs’ bar, and past president of the Livonia Bar Association. He has also served his community in multiple civic and charitable capacities. 

Alan is the proud father of two sons and has three grandchildren.
